Pictures of the annual Tug-of war and Games at Moreton in Essex that is held every Boxing Day. The Tug of war has been held here in Church Lane Moreton for more than 50 years between the two pubs of Moreton village.
In 2007, The team from Nags Head Pub won the tug-of-war, but in 2008 The White Hart Inn team won the tug-of-war.
A game in in the road between the two Moreton pubs commences the event. The game involves carrying a barrel of beer over an obstacle course. After the game the contestants race to the bridge where the tug-of-war takes place over the river. Often teams end up sliding into the Cripsey Brook when they are out-pulled by the other team.
This year's tug of war started at 12 noon on 26 December 2009. The Nags Head Pub won again this year.
